TEDxGhent, Reasonable Doubt

Date:
Thursday, 12 March, 2015 - 19:00

We are all sensitive to irrationality. Our everyday reasoning is infused with a plethora of misconceptions. It is this which makes us human and which, according to some, is the only way we have of learning anything. But why are we so susceptible to irrational thinking and what are we able to do about it? How can we learn to think more critically?

We have invited some big thinkers who have researched (ir)rational thinking intensively, each from an individual perspective. They will discuss what we know about rationality, how scientific research can help us avoid misconceptions and how this could ultimately lead to a better world.

TEDxGhent will give the stage to 4 speakers, after which Het Denkgelag has organized a debate on the subject.

Doors open at 19:00. The event will go on until about 23:00.

Entrance fee: €18. Students and PhD students: €10.
